Dr. Mike McGahey

Owner of the Kemptville Health Hub, Dr. Michael McGahey graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. He continued on with his education attending the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto where he completed his Doctorate of Chiropractic degree in 2018. Dr. McGahey was born and raised in Kemptville, Ontario where he was involved in the community, mainly through athletics – playing for the Athens Aeros and Kemptville 73’s and as part of the Kemptville district soccer club. Chiropractic care helped Dr. McGahey through a number of sports and non-sport related injuries.​

Dr. McGahey’s mission is to provide evidence-based care through a combination of soft tissue therapy, joint mobilizations and manipulations, acupuncture, rehabilitation and exercise prescription, and patient education. His goal is to optimize the health and wellness of each patient. He holds certifications in athletic movement assessment, orthotic prescription, instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilizations, and acupuncture.  When he isn’t treating patients, you can find Mike on the ice or enjoying the great outdoors with his wife and Bernedoodle, Sully.  Having a background in different sporting fields, Dr. McGahey shows a keen interest in the treatment of athletes of all ages.

Dr. Heather Jones

Dr. Heather Jones is an Associate Chiropractor with Kemptville Health Hub. Dr. Jones received her Doctorate in Chiropractic from the National University of Health Sciences (NUHS) in Chicago (2008). She received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo (2004), a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from NUHS (2006) and a Master of Science in Advanced Clinical Practice from NUHS (2009). Dr. Jones uses a combination of manual and tool assisted soft tissue therapies, spinal and extremity manipulation and mobilization, acupuncture, custom orthotics and rehabilitation exercises. Dr. Jones is a certified KinesioTaping practitioner. She completed additional training in the fields of chiropractic pediatrics and prenatal care and certified in Webster technique in 2015.

 

​Dr. Jones became interested in sports rehabilitation after experiencing several injuries as a competitive soccer player in high school. At the University of Waterloo, she completed co-op placements in both a physiotherapy clinic and a chiropractic clinic and felt chiropractic was the best fit for her. She has gone on to take additional courses in functional rehabilitation.

Dr. Jones enjoys spending her time away from work with her husband and two daughters. Her passion for healthy living extends from her chiropractic practice to her home life where she and her husband have a strong interest in nutrition and healthy living.
